The TrapWorks Key Locking Cat Trap is a new addition to the TrapWorks range and features an automatic key locking system to prevent unauthorized interference.
This is useful in urban pest control situations, where members of the public may have access to the trap and may be tempted to release captured animals, especially cats. The key lock automatically engages when the trap is set-off and the only way to re-open the door is with a key.
The trap is still easy to set, with one hand opening the door while the other hand turns the key. For multiple orders (up to ten) the traps can be keyed alike, so that a single key will open all the traps.
Other than the key locking system, the trap is identical to the TrapWorks Professional version Cat Trap:
It's an easy to use, durable cage trap, manufactured here in New Zealand – which captures a full range of animal pests, including cats, possums, ferrets, stoats, rats, magpies and hedgehogs. And best of all with no escapes (although smaller sub-adult rats will still squeeze through the trap mesh).
The trigger system uses a counterweighted treadle in the rear of the trap, which is sensitive enough for the weight of a rat to set it off.
The trap is long enough that even the largest cat can’t back out when the trap goes off. The door locking system also has a couple of extra design features which ensure the door will lock securely, even if a large cat’s tail sticks out of the entrance.
Every trap has weatherproof labels on top, with clear instructions and bait suggestions for various animal pests. A printed guide for trapping and how to dispose of captured animals is also supplied with the trap.
